Clair is a graduate of Manchester School of Art, where she studied textiles, specialising in woven design. She has a passion for photography and uses this as the main driving force behind her design work and is inspired by simple geometric patterns that exist both naturally and abstractly in the world around her. By using the camera as a drawing tool she creates abstract perspectives and draws upon patterns and compositions that may not lie in a natural eye line and uses these images to inspire structure and pattern within her work. Clair is a keen photographer and art worker and combines hand drawn and painted elements with manipulated photography to create individual collage works.
Clair has experience working on live briefs for industry for both Wallace and Sewell and Dashing Tweeds creating fabrics for both interiors and fashion.
She has exhibited work at the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair and New Designers 2013
Clair was one of 16 finalists in the New Design Britain Awards and exhibited her work at Interiors UK 2014 in Birmingham
